WHEN: JULY 29 – AUGUST 10

Childhood Interrupted is a powerful pop-up art installation located at historic sites of old plantations. In 1860, nearly half of all enslaved people in the United States were under the age of 16; this compelling display was created to bear witness to and explore the lives of enslaved children, to honor their humanity, and to invite honest conversations about our shared history. They played. They dreamed. They imagined and still. They were enslaved.
